An expert of the law sought to understand the limits of Christ's command to love our neighbor. Jesus answered by telling the parable of the "Good Samaritan". (see Luke 10:25-37).
At the end of the parable, Jesus turned the question around and asked His questioner: " Which of the three do you think was the neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers?"
"The one who have mercy on him". Was the questioner's reply.
"Go, and do likewise". Jesus told him.
"Go and do likewise"- these four words stand among the greatest moral teaching in history.
Through the centuries, thousands of missionaries traveled to other nations to reach out to their neighbors. They tackled the issues of poverty, justices, sickness, education that they encountered.
We can do likewise, by supporting the mission of the Church, through our prayers, sacrifices and financial help.
