The only words that really matter "Your sins are forgiven"

Four men took a chance (Mark 2:1 - 5). They want Jesus to heal their friend. But Jesus wouldn't  settle for a simple healing of the body. Jesus wants to heal the soul, for to heal the body is temporal, but to heal the soul is eternal.

They expect Jesus to say : "I heal you". They expect Jesus to heal the body for that is what they see.

But Jesus chooses to treat not only the body, but also the soul, for that is what Jesus sees.

They want Jesus to give the man a new body so he can walk.  Jesus gives grace to the man so can live.

This is remarkable! Sometimes, God is so touched by what he sees that he gives us what we need and not simply what we ask for.

By the way, Jesus hasn't change since the day a stretcher was lowered  into His presence on cords of hope.

What happened then still happens today.  When we take a step of faith, God sees. The same face  that beamed at the paralytic beams at the alchoholic refusing the bottle. The same lips that spoke to the man in Capernnauim speaks to any person anywhere who dare to come into the presence of God and ask for help.

And though we cannot hear him on earth, angels in heaven can. All of heaven must pause as another burst of love declares the only words that really matter - "Your sins are forgiven!"
