It is not a good thing to feel completly at home on earth. As long as we are aliens we cannot forget our homeland.
Unhappiness cultivates a hunger for heaven. God holds our attention by gracing us with dissatisfaction. To settle for earth, or to be content on this strange land, is tragic.
We are not completely be happy on earth because we are not at home here. We are not completely happy here because we are not made to be completely happy here. "We are like foreigners and strangers in this world" (1 Peter 2:11).
We cannot be completely happy on earth because we are not made for earth.Oh yes! We do have some moments of joy. We will catch glimpses of light. We will know moments, or day of peace. But these simply do not compare with the happiness that lies ahead.
Saint Augustine puts it this way: " Oh, God, you have made us for yourself and our heart is restless until it rest in you".
