The path of the Cross tells us how far God will go to bring us back home to Himself

According to tradition, the Via Dolorosa -the Way of Sorrows - is the route Jesus took from Pilate's court to the hill of Calvary. The sacred route is marked by Stations of the Cross which are frequently used by Christians for devotion to the Passion  of Christ.

One of the stations marks the passing of Pilate's verdict, another marks the Simon helping Christ to carry the Cross. Two stations commemorate the falling of Christ. There are fourteen stations in all, each of them serves as a reminder of the events of Christ's final journey on earth.

Is the route accurate? We do not know for Jerusalem was destroyed, the streets of the city were also destroyed.

But we know the true path began and ended. It began in the halls of heaven, when God, the Son left, in order to reincorporate us all to Himself and reconcile us with the Father.

Through Christ, the Father reconciles the world to Himself. Reconciliation means to reverse the rebellion - to rekindle the old passion, to touch upon the shoulder, to woo the wayward homeward.

Armed with nothing more than infinite passion and love to win each our hearts, Christ came looking for us with one only desire - to bring us back home to the Father.
