Goliath was a great giant clothed in an armor of steel carrying in hand a mighty sword.
David was a shepherd boy without defensive steel, carrying no other weapon other than a staff and five little stones from a nearby brook.
Goliath scorned David, saying: “Am I a dog, that you come to me with a staff?”
David answered humbly not trusting in his own power: “I come to you in the name of the Lord…”
The outcome, we know. The boy with a stone killed a giant with the armor and sword.
God has chosen the foolish to compound the wise. He has chosen the weak to confound the strong. (see 1 Cor. 1:27).
