There are many things we do not know about God’s
creation. But there is something we do know. He did it with a smile. He must
have a blast. What a time He must have
had. He must have loved every bit of it. He must have poured Himself into the
work that He took a day off at the end of the week to rest.
On the sixth day, He made man. He began with a
useless mound of dirt and ended up with an invaluable specie called human who
has the honor to bear the stamp, “In His Image” and that wasn’t the finale.
The devil of the snake feeds man a line and an
apple. Gullible Adam swallowed them both. Adam’s act of rebellion triggers in
motion a dramatic and erratic courtship between God and man. God, the
compassionate creator woos His creation. Man, His creation, alternately,
reaches out in repentance and runs away in rebellion.
Near the climax of the story, God made a move which
surprised everyone. He became man.
I have not seen such a determination. If one thing does not work, He tried another.
If one approach failed, He would try another one. God’s mind never stopped.
And now comes the peak of His creation – God on the
Cross. The Creator being sacrifice for His creation.
Once and for all, God convinces man that forgiveness
still follows failure.
I wonder what was in Christ’s mind while hanging on
the Cross. I guess nobody knows. But I know what He said: “It is finished!”
The mission was finished. All the Creator needed to do was done.
